Where to drive
The Military Road over the Sally Gap, Glendalough, the Vartry reservoirs and the coast from Greystones down to Arklow. In summer the mountain roads are busy at weekends, so a weekday booking, at standard points, is often the better drive.
Good to know
Wicklow's mountain roads get gritted in winter. Check before you go out between November and March, and wash the underside after any salted run. Many Wicklow groups lay the car up for the darkest months.
