Your data, kept to a minimum.
We collect what we need to introduce buyers and sellers and to run the shared calendar, and nothing else.
Who we are
Mile Club, operated by Paul Cassidy, Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, is the data controller for this website. Contact us at hello@mileclub.ie about anything in this notice.
What we collect and why
- Your email address, to sign you in with a one-time link and to send you messages about your listings, enquiries and calendar. Legal basis: performing our contract with you.
- Your name and phone number, if you give them, so sellers and buyers can contact each other. When you ask for a seller's details, we share your name, email and phone with that seller, and theirs with you.
- Listing details and photos you add. Listings are public once approved, apart from your contact details, which only buyers who unlock them can see.
- Calendar bookings, mileage and notes, visible to the other co-owners of that car.
- Payment records. Stripe processes card payments. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record of what was paid and when, as Irish tax law requires.
- Basic server logs, kept for security for up to 30 days.
We don't use advertising cookies or sell your data. We use one cookie to keep you signed in.
Who we share it with
Our service providers, under contracts that protect your data: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email). Some of these process data outside the EEA under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We share data with the Gardaí or other authorities only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Account data while your account is open, and for 12 months after you close it. Payment records for six years, as Revenue requires. Withdrawn listings are deleted after 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to move it to another service. Email hello@mileclub.ie and we'll reply within a month. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Refunds on contact fees
If a seller hasn't replied within 7 days of you unlocking their details, email us and we'll refund the fee to your card.
